For VET Systems
The EU Quality Assurance is vocational education and training is a tool based on the 2009 Recommendation of the European Parliament and Council. The Recommendation invites Member States to use a series of indicative descriptors and indicators to support and develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems. The tool provides guidance on how to develop a quality assurance system and contains examples of different approaches used by Member States.
For VET providers
The EQAVET Quality Assurance reference framework for vocational

assurance or a reference framework for VET which has been agreed
by Member States. The Quality Assurance National Reference
Points across Europe play an important role in supporting the
implementation of the EQAVET reference framework.

The innovative nature of the model is a top-down approach to criteria, descriptors and indicators of EQAVET with a bottom-up provider need approach. The result will be a common framework with criteria which are workable and possible to implement. In this way EQAVET becomes a European tool/instrument used by VET providers with real practical impact on quality in VET.
